The first question that everyone wants to know will be how much will this trip cost? At this date of posting on the website of May 06, 2010 I tell everyone that this trip will be not less than $3000.00 per person double occupancy. However if we get a large group and a charter flight the price will be cheaper. Please take the time and do a web search for rates in Kenya and you will find that such tours that we are organizing cost over $10,000.00. This trip is broken down to a menu order so that each person can take all or part of this trip. For some just getting to Africa and getting back will be enough.  The excursion to Mombassa and to Barack Obama's hometown is an extra expense.  You can travel according to your budget.  In Ghana I stay in local hotel in Kenya they have student rooms for college travelors.

The Price of the Trip

These are examples of Price Targets estimated travel dates

Please note we will negotiate with the airlines, hotels and ground travel companies for discounts, packages and other ways to make this happen. Prices can vary based on the exact amount of those traveling. We are estimating double occupancy in the rooms and us filling up a mini van. In some cases we quadrupled up in the luxury tents to save money. This is not a requirement and only an option to make the trip affordable for some, Safari lodges are very expensive. Everyone will be required to get a passport and pay their Visa Fees. Entry into Ethiopia was about $20.00 and for Kenya $30.00. One should consider minor park fees and some minor meals. Travel to Mombasa will be added airfare, hotel, ground transportation and some food. In most cases the hotel rate includes breakfast and dinner or lunch and dinner.

Our scheduled African Tours are a two part trip with travel going to first to Ethiopia and Kenya and a later date we are scheduling a tour to Ethiopia and Ghana. In the past all trips have been scheduled during the “High Season” in Kenya and at the most expensive times. We have found that the last week in July and the first week in August has been the most idea time for everyone to travel because of those who are in summer school working on advanced degrees usually has a window after summer school is over and regular school begins. Also this is the high season to see many of the animals in Kenya. Please note since the trip is in 2010 and everyone is open for a better date other than a summer date than we can consider changing our schedule the tour date time. In America summer vacations are more practical. Airlines have not posted their 2011 Rates.

Theoretically we depart Washington D.C. on Friday July 29, 2011 and arrive Addis Ababa Ethiopia on Saturday July 31, 2010 we spend Saturday and Sunday in Ethiopia and arrive in Nairobi Kenya on Monday August 1, 2011.  If we get a chartered jet our price will be cheaper and we can move faster.  Some will want to add Italy for a few days returning later than the entire group.

Date of the Trip:

We will try to negociate with the Kenyan Government to give us local rates and not tourist rates if this happens we will cut our hotel expense in half.  This price is only a target estimate not to go over this amount.  However if you choose luxury accomodations at every turn they your price will be highter.  We will have luxury accomodations in most cases.
